The Two Week Adventure

I haven't blogged in ages, partly due to our two week long adventure. On August 6th, my Mom, Bella, Alfee (the dog) and me set out in a 17 foot U-Haul to Scottsdale, Arizona (approximately 1,300 miles) my Mom's new home! Day one entailed leaving Livingston, two hours late, loosing the U-Haul keys in the U-Haul, trying to get gas using an Exxon gas card at a Conoco Gas Station (it did not work and my Mom was sure it was the gas station's fault not hers) and a crying baby all the way to Salt Lake!

Day two we traveled from Beaver, Utah to Las Vegas, Nevada, only a four hour drive. While approaching Vegas, we saw signs for the Premium Outlet Mall with a wide range of stores such as Coach, Ralph Lauren, JCrew, Kate Spade, etc., so we made a slight detour in the U-Haul to the Mall. We missed the street so drove the U-Haul through a small part of Vegas, going through parking lots trying to get back on the road. When we got to the Mall, we had to leave the dog in the U-Haul so we only gave ourselves a half hour, well once we got into the Coach Store we realized we needed more time, so we emptied a tote bag and put the dog in the bag and took him shopping! My Mom and I also had to buy new outfits because we both looked like characters from the Beverly Hill Billies! We were very lucky because Sam's daugther's husband Mike got us a beautiful room at the Palace Station and we were able to park the U-Haul there! We took a limo to Bellagio for dinner, Bella's first limo ride. She of course performed in the line to the Buffet and had many admirers. In fact one gentleman said she was the best behaved baby he had ever seen, thankfully he did not sit next to us, because she turned into a nightmare!

Day three we traveled from Vegas to Scottsdale a long drive! My Mom decided not to get gas before we left Vegas, so consequently, we were both nervous that we were going to run out of gas, all I could think about was we were going to get dehydrated and start hallucinating, we didn't, we found a gas station! We made it to Scottsdale with a crying baby and a dog ready to go nuts. Sam was waiting with open arms and was really excited to unload the U-Haul!

We had a nice visit in Scottsdale we were able to spend time with my best friend Kelly and her husband Dustin. Kelly is a Doctor so she did a quick examination of Bella and thinks she is doing great! I am really excited to be able to see them more now that we will be visiting Scottsdale quite a bit.

On August 13th we began the next adventure flying from Scottsdale to the Twin Cities to visit family. We went back to Hudson during the Pepper Fest, so we watched a parade, had amazing Italian food, went on a boat, and were able to spend quality time with Nanny, Aunt Suzie, Cousins, Aunt Irma and Uncle Kenneth, and lots of other people. It was great introducing Bella to everyone, she was definitely a hit! It was hard to say goodbye.

On August 17th we flew back to Scottsdale had a day of rest and on Wednesday Bella and I flew back to Bozeman. We are grateful to be home. Bella was really excited to see her Dad, she has been practicing saying DaDa. I will try to get better at blogging each week now that we are going to stay put for a long time!
